The Mother-In-Law by Sally Hepworth
After listening to The Mother-In-Law by Sally Hepworth, I am still reeling a bit. What a wonderfully written story, intricately woven in a relatable story about the delicate dance between Mother and Daughters in law. The story follows Lucy as she meets, marries, and builds a family with Ollie. The story takes a turn when Diana, Ollie’s mother turns up dead. The story runs both currently and in the past, alternating between Diana and Lucy’s point of view. I do not typically like suspense novels or whodunits, but this book was the perfect balance between thrilling and intriguing without scaring me. It is a page turner you won’t want to…

Dear Edward by Ann Napolitano
I just recently finished a book Dear Edward that was kind of fascinating. It was about a young boy, 10 maybe, who was on a plane with his parents, brother, and 100 strangers that crashed and he was the sole survivor of the crash. It focuses on what lead up to the crash and what happens to him after. What really was interesting to me was, this actually happened, well sort of. In 2010 in Africa there was a Dutch boy who was the lone survivor of a plane crash too. The author became obsessed with the story, but not much else was ever known about the boy except for…

For those of you who just want to get to the meat of it, I have Quick Peaks. It is quite literally just a quick…

Riding the Elephant by Craig Ferguson
When I was in the throws of pregnancy and both very anxious and very sick, I used to watch Celebrity Name Game. The witty banter and calming voice of Craig Ferguson got me through some pretty rough times with some mindless fun. I truly missed the show when it was taken off the air, so when I saw he had book coming out I just had to check it out. I opted for the audiobook so that I could hear his voice again. His even tone and insightful observations proved to be a good diversion to an otherwise stressful week. His thoughts meandered and his stories were both humorous and…
